Hi,
Never post an item before receiving payment!!
Buyers have 4 days from listing end to pay for items before you can open a dispute.
When you receive payment, you will be sent a notification email from PayPal. However, as there are fakes around, always log direct into your account and check there i.e. don't click on links.
If the payment shows as 'complete' it's o.k. to post the item and you should do so within 7 days. Click on the 'details' link and you'll see the buyer's address. Payment goes to the email address you entered in the payments section on the selling form - in the box alongside PayPal.
The £ sign alongside the transaction on your My ebay page will also turn dark blue. However, ebay can be slow to update/glitchy, so don't rely on it 100%.
As you are new to selling, there may be occasions when the payment will be subject to the 'held payment' policy. Details here:

Once you have posted the item, click on More Actions to the right of the item on your My ebay page and 'mark as despatched'. The buyer will then receive an automatic email from ebay.
