Hi,

Yes, you will need to refund in full.

If the item is damaged beyond repair/not resaleable then you can ask the buyer for photos of the item and the packaging and once you have the proof refund in full without the need for them to return.

If you have a proof of postage, then you can attach the photos to the RM claim form.  Ask the buyer to retain both whilst the claim is in progress though.

Just refund the original payment including the out going P&P.

The buyer pays for the return postage costs and advised to send by a tracked postal service so they prove delivery.

If the buyer can show you evidence that the item was damaged in transit you really should also offer to pay postage if you want the item returned to you.

Damage suffered in transit could be the result of inadaquate packing so it is not fair that the buyer should be out of pocket.

You are not obliged to pay return costs but if you think that you are at fault you should.

Whatever happens buyer will still be able to leave feedback.
