Hello & can you help ? Do I have to change my account from a private to business account to sell more than 10 items a month ? And if so, does it make any real difference ? I'm having a massive clear out plus Xmas is coming...again...so could do with the money and space. Thanks.

if you are selling your own items why would you want to be a buisness seller just to sell more items and then pay tax.

Hi,

All new sellers have a limit of 10 items per month or up to a certain value.  As your feedback/ratings increase, so will your allowance.  Details here:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/sellinglimits.html

If you are only selling personal items, then not a good idea to register as a Business as you then need to comply with Distance Selling Regulations!

Would also suggest that you don't do 'private listings'.  Private listings are more suited when selling items of a sensitive nature.  Many people avoid private listings because there may be shill bidding i.e. seller using another ID to bid on own auctions - which is illegal.

eBay Program will only allow you to request higher selling allowance if :

-PP verified

-you have a good selling performance within 90 days(3 months, no skip)

- actually exceeding your monthly selling allowance per month within 3 consecutive monthss

-not in a below standard selling performance: low detailed seller ratings or cases in eBay Resolution Centre

-if you skip a month and just started to list again only within this month, then you aren't qualified
