Hi,

Ask the buyer to return, via trackable method and in the same condition as when sent for a full refund.

If you refuse you risk them finding fault with the item, or deliberately damaging and then opening a dispute.  You then have nothing to re-sell!

No return = no refund.

Once you have returned, you can send a mutual cancellation request in order to get the final value fee credit.  Let the buyer know in advance why you are doing so, assure them there will be no detriment to their account and ask them to agree to it:

Not reading all of the imformation in the listings is a common fault of many buyer's.

If you refuse to issue a refund they will probably find some sore of fault with it or even damage it and then claim 'Item not as described'

Probable best to just ask for the item to be returned at the buyer's expense and when you get it back, issue the refund.

You can always relist if you wish.

Do i have to give them a refund.

In theory no, not if you described it properly.

In practice all our buyer has to do is to complain to eBay that it is not as described in some way. EBay never sees the item and takes the buyer's word unless the seller can prove otherwise.

As has been said, the danger is that some buyers will "make sure" there is a fault to justify returning things.

In all but name eBay has become sale or return. It would be more honest and prevent buyers from telling lies if eBay said so.
