Buyer does not want to purchase item, due to "snipe" program mistake!

Sold a car today, buyer has now responded stating he has bought another motor. He had tried to stop a "snipe" program from bidding on the car I had listed but could not do so before auction ended.

Where do I now stand with regards to being billed for final value fee's and not being able to re-list the car?

Any advice greatly appreciated on what step's to take next.

Hi,

Open an Unpaid Item Dispute 4 days after listing end in order get the final value fee credit, so the buyer gets a strike on their account and so feedback can't be exchanged.

Once you have received the final value fee credit you can relist.  If you relist at the same or lower price and it sells the second time your basic insertion fee will be refunded. If it doesn't sell you still pay.

If you send a mutual cancellation request then you risk the buyer not agreeing so you won't receive the fvf.  Plus they won't reeive a strike and can still leave feedback.

It's usually best to do a Classified Ad for Motors as that way you can let the listing run until the deal is done and dusted.  Fee is £14.99 for 28 days and there's no final value fee.

Add them to your blocked bidder list!
