A buyer has contacted me saying they entered an £11 max bid, but then they won the item at £40 and is refusing to pay. Is this possible?

It could be possible that they entered something like £110 instead of £11.00 .......or something like that with decimal point in wrong place.

If they did make a foolish error they may not have noticed. Might just be believable.....up to you whether you think this is feasible or not.

Hi,

It's possible they made an error when they placed their max. bid e.g. put a dot in wrong place or an extra zero i.e. £110.

Open an Unpaid Item Dispute 4 days after listing end in order to get your final value fee refunded, so the buyer gets a strike on their account and so feedback can't be exchanged.  Details of the process here:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/unpaid-items.html

Don't do a mutual cancellation as you risk the buyer not agreeing and then you won't receive the credit.  Plus they can still leave feedback and won't receive a strike.

Add their ID to your blocked bidder list:

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?bidderblocklogin

Set your Buyer Requirements to block bidders with 2 or more unpaid item strikes:

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences&guest=1&guest=1

Once you have closed the dispute you can relist.
